Musical about hardships and relationships of men and women during World War II, as the title implies, in the South Pacific. One of the more poignant messages is about racism and how it can affect one generation after the other. No doubt this was slightly controversial in the Southern States at the time of this films release. Overall the film has a delightful feel to it and great messages about racism, sacrifice and love. Definitely worth watching. For some of the more mature themes of this movie it is probably deserving of a PG rating. But most age groups could watch this. whether or not they will appreciate it is another question all together.
