I love computers. I am a Computer Information Technology major. I have been tinkering with electronics since I was a little child. My dad got a computer early on and I had experience playing on that at a very young age. I wrote a few computer games when I was around 13 years old. I have built many computers from parts and networked them together to play games with my friends and other family members. I’ve had about 10 computers at one time, all scattered in my bedroom. You had to be careful when walking around bare foot as you might get some wires and screws in your toes! Today I work for a company doing IT Security. I work remotely 20 hours a week on a virtual desktop. I don’t consider myself an anti-social geek though. Even though I know my “stuffâ€, I still am pretty normal (at least I like to think so).
Ultimate Frisbee is the sport of champions. This is by far my favorite sport ever! I love watching people play. Even more, I love to play myself. I helped organize an Ultimate Frisbee team when I was in High School and we played each week for 2 years. I played occasionally on my mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (which I served in Durban, South Africa) and joined the rec team at BYU-Idaho. After a semester of that, I joined the competitive team. We won the championship game! I scored the winning point. One of the best moments in my entire life.
If I had a choice, I would live outdoors. I actually did live outdoors in a tent for 2 weeks. I was “homeless†as I stayed in Rexburg, Idaho during part of a 7 week break between semesters. I worked on campus in the IT department and wanted to save money. It worked well until I almost got eaten by coyotes! Growing up, we went camping about every weekend in the summer. That was just the way our family was. I find my serenity outside. I feel peace and I feel the closest to the Holy Spirit when I am in God’s nature.
