Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (also known as Journey to the Mysterious Island) is an upcoming American 3D action-adventure film directed by Brad Peyton and the sequel to the 2008 film Journey to the Center of the Earth. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzmán and Kristin Davis. The story is by Richard Outten, Brian Gunn & Mark Gunn, and the screenplay is by Brian Gunn & Mark Gunn. Sean (Hutcherson) accompanies his mother's husband (Johnson) to find his grandfather (Caine) who went missing while exploring a lost island. After the success of the first film, Walden Media and New Line Cinema purchased Richard Outten's spec script, Mysterious Travels, in March 2009 to serve as the basis for the film. In the story, the characters embark on a journey to a mysterious uncharted island thought to have informed the writing of three literary classics: Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels and Jules Verne's Mysterious Island. In May 2010, Warner Bros. & New Line announced that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island will release on February 10, 2012. Brendan Fraser and Anita Briem

There are some very cheesy parts in this movie but having said that, it's a good, clean, fun flick if you have some extra time. The visuals are highly impressive.

It's one of those shows that you don't need to own, but it's a good watch if nothing else is on TV or at Redbox.

This was a fun sequel. The bee sequence in particular was executed to good affect. The message of family developing in a positive direction is strong and good. My biggest gripe about the film is the female character's choice of clothes. Short and tight-fitting. this sends the message to young girls that showing as much skin as possible is normal and expected. This is a trend that this movie, unfortunately, supports. Despite this, the film is enjoyable and fun. Ultimately this film will not be worth owning or viewing more than once.

Not quite as good as the first Journey (to the Center of the Earth), but still fun for the whole family. Had me laughing out loud at a few parts.

Great for kids ages 5-12. If you rent it I highly recommend you do so on Blu-Ray. The movie is visually pretty good, but that’s about all its worth.
