A surprising amount of violence, especially gun violence. But a compelling (and beautifully animated) mystery.

This movie has some excellent animation but the story is a bit mature for young kids, in my opinion. It has heavy themes of alcohol and fighting mixed with the adventure. It's a fun watch if you have some time, but nothing to get too excited about.

Is a beautifully done terrible movie. Your eyes will thank you but your brain will demand revenge.

Great for tweens. Might be a little scary if you have a child that is really sensitive to action films. Content was great and the story was fun.

I was excited to take my family to a good adventure movie by Stephen Spielberg. The trailers looked good. The critics were about half and half, but it looked like a good one for Christmas Eve before we went to dinner. Boy, was I wrong! It started out pretty well, but quickly got boring, and there was hardly a bit of cleverness in the whole movie, let alone some decent humor. It had lots of action, but no intelligence whatsoever - it was a very similar experience to the 4th Indiana Jones movie. Spielberg has simply lost the magic. It's too bad too, because it had lots of potential but it seemed to pay more homage to the authenticity of the comic book characters than to an entertaining film for its audience. Snowy the dog was the best part of the show, but I could not sit through this again.

Excellent family adventure movie. Some violence in the style of Indiana Jones, but not as graphic. Very entertaining. I was surprised with the realism of the animation. I haven't seen anything else to compare with it.

I appreciated the slower pace of this movie, yet still enough action. I also love that there was no dumb humor. A good clean, family fun movie

This film is excellent! Spielberg and Jackson are a great team. It looks amazing (best computer animation I've ever seen!). The story is fantastic. This is the kind of film I was hoping Indiana Jones 4 would be. It has action, adventure, excitement, comedy, mystery - it's just great fun. One of the very best films of 2011. It might frighten young children (my four year old was too scared to watch it all), but kids who are a little older and adults to will really enjoy this one.

After watching this you might ask whether live actors are really needed anymore as this CG film is incredibly realistic in its settings and characters. The film is never slow as the title character goes form one harrowing adventure to another. Not entirely sure how this movie obtained a PG rating with how much violence there is. Regardless, this movie is a wonderful delight to watch. The CG is truly beautiful.

This was a fun movie with a some adventure and a decent plot but there were slow segments throughout. It wasn't as dense with either action, interesting story development or humor/wit as a typical Pixar movie.

Bought my daughter the Tintin comic books at a garage sale and we're both hooked! The movie definitely delivered on our excitement since hearing about it last year.
