Skyfall
When James Bond's (Daniel Craig) latest assignment goes terribly wrong, it leads to a calamitous turn of events: Undercover agents around the world are exposed, and MI6 is attacked, forcing M (Judi Dench) to relocate the agency. With MI6 now compromised inside and out, M turns to the one man she can trust: Bond. Aided only by a field agent (Naomie Harris), Bond takes to the shadows and follows a trail to Silva (Javier Bardem), a man from M's past who wants to settle an old score.

Daniel Craig continues his stint as the "more human" Bond; a character that is deeper and more engaging than his predecessors. Craig's Bond is still an invincible secret agent performing death defying stunts in exotic locations. He is still a womanizer. He still has gadgets. However, we seem to care more about this Bond than previous Bonds. He is more complex, more real, more engaging.
Skyfall itself is a satisfying and enjoyable action film and includes all of the things fans of the franchise have come to love and expect. In fact, persons with nostalgia for 'classic' Bond elements may find themselves very pleasantly surprised. The story is enjoyable, the action is explosive, the villain is brilliantly evil -- though perhaps a little too brilliantly evil to be believable.
As with all Bond movies, there is a fair amount of violence and sensuality, with little to no vulgarity. The viewer is left with no question as to the intents and actions of sensual scenes, though no actual nudity is shown. The violence is pervasive, as it is an action film, but blood and gore are minimized.
If I had a complaint about the film it would be that the villain outlives interest by about half an hour and becomes a bit too melodramatic near the end. The movie could have benefited from a slight shortening in order to minimize these negatives. However, I am a Bond fan ... and especially a Daniel Craig Bond fan ... and Skyfall does not disappoint in total. I give it a solid worth your time. -
I really liked the plot of this movie, the story line was pretty interesting and I loved how they brought back the classic Bond elements into the movie. This was a plot that definitely showed how Bond can overcome weakness and triumph over his own past and enemies at the same time. Of course, he always has to have some sex scene with ladies, so for that reason and the violence and certain madness, I believe this movie is more suitable for ages 15 and up. Daniel Craig did a great job, Judy Dench as always is amazing and Javier Bardem, the man really scared me haha... he did a good job as a villain, quite a disturbing character. Entertaining movie for sure.

This was a very good bond film. I liked the plot and the story line. I liked the new Q (except never plug a suspicious laptop into your network). It is very visually and entertaining film. I highly recommended it.

A very different Bond than any of the previous 22 entries in the franchise, this one begins to delve into what makes 007 tick. For Bond fans, it's exciting to see the character taken in a direction somewhat closer to Ian Fleming's books. Balancing out a number of decidedly un-Bond-ish elements that feel like they'd be more at home in a Batman movie, director Sam Mendes also throws in some fun references to the early Sean Connery and Roger Moore incarnations of the character. A must-see film for Bond fans, but highly recommended for anyone who likes a tight action flick. "Skyfall" is pretty dark, though, and includes some heavier elements that may not be appropriate for young audience members. Think of this as "The Dark Knight" of the series.

Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond. This was probably the biggest character study in the series and, in the context of the over-the-top traditions of the canon, it was subtle in surfacing 50 years of convention.
-
Best Bond movie yet. I like how they honored M after all these years. It was a fitting 50 yr anniversary movie of James Bond. Constant action.
-
OK, admittedly i am not a bond fan, i've seen the more recent ones (Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig), and have been entertained but not impressed. i particularly enjoy the ones in which there is a plot and insight into what makes bond who he is and his back story. in that respect, the movie did not disappoint. i thought there was more plot with less sex in skyfall as compared to past ones. there is always more action than suits my particular taste (but that's the franchise) but i didn't feel the violence to be excessive or gory. overall, i enjoyed it and recommend it to worth your time.
-
Good action, excellent story line and not as much skin as in some of the past Bond's. I gave this movie a 8.5 on the "Bob" movie scale.
-
Shower scene jumps the rating up.
-
Another quality installment in the Bond franchise. I really enjoyed the tie ins to the previous movies. Two sexuality scenes that make this a higher age rating than even the PG-13 it was given.
-
This is entertainment? Extreme violence, sad little movie, the most casual sex I have ever seen in a movie....
-
An enjoyable Bond movie. The plot is deeper than other Action flicks, enjoyed the classic bond moments, yet still filled with new surprises. Loved the movie

Back to Bond. Nice throwback to the old Bond style yet kept some of the newer feeling that Craig delivers.

So, my Mom and Dad were huge 007 fans, and I grew up watching the movies in the theaters. A little risque, yeah, but as a young kid it went right over my head. As I've watched the actors file in and out over the years, some have been good, some bad. Bond has become a caricature, per se. But, Daniel Craig restored my faith in the franchise, and was "vulnerable" and human. The story was good, the plot well laid out, the acting great, and the "Bond gadgets" were there- as well as rebooting new characters (not gonna spoil it, you'll find out!). Well done.
-
Bond is back in action and this film appeals to fans of all eras. It had a mature, yet very exciting, plot with expected violence and some expected sexual scenes.
The sex isn't as graphic or prolonged as in previous Bond movies. The plot, however, is still mature and contains a lot of fighting and violence.
Be prepared for an impressive film! -
If you liked the other Daniel Craig 007 movies, then there's no reason you won't like Sky Fall. It's another film in vein of the other two: lots of action sequences and crazy stunts. I also thoroughly enjoyed all the classic Bond (Sean Connery-era) hints too. A great film and may be the best of the last twenty years.
-
While the action scenes were impressive, the plot wasn't thick enough for my taste. In addition, I don't really enjoy the character of Bond. I would have seen him evolve a little more.
-
Great movie but not really a Bond movie. They're trying retrospect 007 with our modern day.
-
Great movie. Better than the second one, Quantum of Solace. Good action and story line. And its got some of the Old School Bond stuff in it. Thought it was a great story line.
-
Skyfall is one of the best James Bond movies I've seen. So far Daniel Craig's Bond is 2 for 3 in the really great movie dept. with Casino Royale being the other excellent one. It is action packed, intelligent, and the villain is very well done. I rated this for 14+ due to the strong violence, some sexuality and strong dialogue. Excellent movie - I can't wait for the next one!
-
Of all the marvelous feats that make Skyfall such a thrilling addition to the James Bond movie canon, the greatest may be that the 23rd entry conveys the melancholy of loss, mortality, and future-shock anxiety, while at the same time leaving us plenty of space to enjoy one of the most complexly unhinged villains in Bond history... It's also a great, long-lasting jolt of pleasure... Read full review here

Enjoyed the movie but wasn't wowed. My wife, who is a huge James Bond fan thought it was amazing. Worth the time, a little too much for me
-
Very suspenseful, an excellent Bond movie. Not for children due to sex scenes and violence.
-
"Skyfall" triumphantly reinvents 007 in one of the best Bonds ever. This is a full-blooded, joyous, intelligent celebration of a beloved cultural icon, with Daniel Craig taking full possession of a role he earlier played well in "Casino Royale,"... I don't know what I expected in Bond No. 23, but certainly not an experience this invigorating... Read full review here

Love the new Bond films! This film has a darker deeper feel than past Bond films. I loved it. Action packed with more 007 character development. Well made non the least.

Great and spectacular show that keeps you entertained 90% of the 2:45 minutes of the movie. Once again Daniel Craig pull off a great appearance and actuation . The movie might or might not have a sequence based on the ending . If you have been following the series you will be blown away with this one.

Skyfall is the latest James Bond movie that came out a couple of months ago. I’m a little behind on movies that came out during the Thanksgiving rush because I was in the middle of a semester and, as many of you know, college semesters can be on bit on the time consuming side.
In the movie, James Bond (Daniel Craig) is presumed dead after an accident on a mission where he was tasked with recovering a hard drive with operatives’ names and locations. During Bond’s absence, a man named Silva (Javier Bardem) is waging war against M (Judi Dench) for things she has done in her past. Bond returns after Silva attacks the MI6 building and is tasked with tracking Silva. The mission puts Bonds loyalty to M to the test and pushes him to his limit in more ways than one.
I had high hopes for Skyfall because, like all action movies, the trailers looked incredible and Coke Zero had an incredible PR stunt that went along with the movie. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDiZOnzajNU). I was a little disappointed with the film. First off, Skyfall is a long movie, like Hobbit long because scenes are dragged out. The movie starts off with a great action scene but then slows down considerably once Bond is dead and when he comes back. After that though, things get slow. Bond is dead, people are trying to force M into retirement and the tone is melancholy. Maybe it’s because you have to watch all the credits right after the opening scene that sets you up for a slow start but at least you get to listen to the main theme, “Skyfall” performed by the lovely Adele. It’s long but worth it; after all, Adele won a Golden Globe for that song.
*A side note about the song, when it came out I was proud to be one of the first to hear it because, like a good advertising student, I saw it on Twitter. It had been a long night and I was lulled to sleep by the song. Naturally, when I woke up I put the song in a special place in my heart. It’s my college lullaby.*
Things pick up once Silva is introduced. I’ve only seen a couple of James Bond movies but the ones I have seen don’t spend much time developing the bad guy’s backstory. Silva is the exception and his story is explored and explained to the point that you see that he and Bond have more in common than originally thought. It was a refreshing change and might be why the movie was so long. If that is the reason, it’s worth it.
A huge positive was the acting. Everyone was incredible in their roles. Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Silva was superb and his character was just weird enough that he was fascinating. The banter between Bond and M was perfect and an appropriate comedic relief. Don’t even get me started on Q and Bond’s relationship. The movie focuses a lot on how Bond is getting older and that he should retire from the field. The fact that Q is a young gun doesn’t make Bond feel better but creates a relationship that is funny and relatable.
Something that true Bond fans will enjoy is the little throwbacks to the legacy of James Bond. After all, Bond has been around for 50 years, giving credit to the past is part of the fun. The most memorable scene that alludes to the Bond legacy is when Bond is sitting at a bar in a club in Shanghai. The scene opens with a woman shaking a drink and Bond smiles and says, “Perfect.” The second one comes when Bond gets his car out of storage and it’s an Aston Martin. The third is when Bond and M are in the Aston Martin and he flips the top of the gear shift to reveal a red button to which M says, “Go ahead and eject me.”
Overall, this is a “rent it” movie.

With a powerful jolt, 007 feels relevant again, with serious questions about espionage vs. cyber hacking amid the fun... Craig has injected a vital transfusion of fresh plasma into a franchise that began in 1962... As superb as the special effects can be, it's the cast that renders it irresistible.... Consistently high-caliber, Skyfall is the ideal way to celebrate the 50-year mark... Read full review here

Skyfall overflows with talent... Although Skyfall spends equal time looking back and setting up the future, it never loses sight of the present and, in the process, gives us the best 007 adventure in more than four decades... staging of Skyfall's action sequences are expertly done with an occasional hint of artistry... Skyfall is the complete package, at least to the extent that any Bond adventure could make such a claim. It challenges perceptions without breaking the formula...By its end, Skyfall has brought us full circle and long-time fans will feel as if they've come home. The closing scene is just about perfect and, if the world ended tomorrow and there was never another Bond outing, a better conclusion to the franchise would be hard to imagine... Was it good? Yes. was it a bit far fetched? Yes. Will I buy it? Yes. This movies like all bonds is good. Daniel Craig in my opinion is one of the best bond's. Plenty of action! There were some parts that I was like "really??" for instance the part where the old man and M are running across the field trying to get away... But are they doing it so no one can see them? No they are shinning the flashlight all over the place. Not very realistic, but hey its a movie and it needed to go somewhere.
I really liked the bad guy in the movie. A lot different than the rest.February 7th, 2013 Details -
Daniel Craig is probably my favorite version of Bond, but this show was really slow at times and struggled to keep my attention.

Skyfall is James Bond at his very best. Daniel Craig really brought out a Bond that we'd never seen before. I loved the hints of and ‘older' 007 with the car, shotguns, knives, and the shaving blades. From the soundtrack to the villain, the whole thing was theatrical beauty. I can't wait for the next one.

James Bond is getting old! After watching some of the older 007 movies the actors are getting old. In this movie we get to be taken back to where James Bond was raised, and witness a battle at his childhood home. Just in case you missed it James Bond dies in the beginning. The intro to the movie is still just as long as it has always been. Still leaves you thinking there will be a next...
