This movie is definitely not a PG13. Just because there is no actual sex and nudity, doesn't mean that it's appropriate for ages as young as 13. The theme of the movie is for adults, containing very graphic conversations about sex and the intimate life of couple.

Tommy Lee Jones, in particular, shines in his role as the shy, emotionally withered husband in this quiet comedy-drama. A nice story for couples with, overall, a good message. Scenes of frank sexual discussion during Kay and Arnold's therapy sessions may not be for everyone, though, especially in a movie theatre setting.

Good story about a couple trying to rekindle the romance after the kids have left home. This is an adult situation since the couple is speaking frankly with their therapist about intimate moments of their marrieage.

I do not understand how this movie got a PG-13 rating. There was no nudity and only mild profanity, but the subject matter was explicit and graphic with some very graphic scenes. We walked out in the middle because we didn't know how much worse it was going to get.

Mature 18+ | Worth Your Time

Despite the painfully real scenarios of a walled off relationship, this movie is about two people who love each other very much and are unskilled at being vulnerable with each other. It has a hopeful message for couples who experience similar desperation. I think married individuals will find it more worthy of their time.
