When shallow wannabe-writer Rory (Bradley Cooper) finds an old manuscript tucked away in a bag, he decides to pass the work off as his own. The book, called "The Window Tears," brings Rory great acclaim, until the real author (Jeremy Irons) shows up and threatens to destroy Rory's reputation. Cut to Clayton Hammond (Dennis Quaid), a writer whose popular novel "The Words" seems to mirror Rory's story, leading to speculation that the tome is Hammond's thinly veiled autobiography.

If you miss a portion of this film you may not understand all that is going on. Be ready to help younger viewers understand the story within a story concept. I personally liked the ending which leaves the story open to interpretation.

Really slow and not very redeeming or upbeat, and the end leaves itself wide open for discussion. I just watched it last night, and already I forgot most of it! I think it was very well made, and they took the time to do some really good character development, but I don't think it paid off, and I am not a fan of the French style of rolling the credits before they finish the story, it makes you feel like they left out the final scene. I don't need to have movies end in a nice neat package, some of the best movies I have seen don't really finish it for you, but if it isn't done right, it just feels lazy...

Where do we want to live, in fact or fiction? That's the question the new movie "The Words" asks. And you walk out of the theater not asking yourself that question, but asking it of the film. "The Words" is a very good film that could have been great. See my full review on ksl.com.

Even though most critics gave the film negative reviews, before I thought of myself, "What if they're right?". When I finished the film, I kinda liked it. It was worth my time.
