Gangster Squad
Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mobster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) has 1949 Los Angeles in an iron fist, as he accumulates a fortune from drugs, prostitution and gambling. Cohen has an army of paid goons at his disposal, but he also has certain policemen and politicians in his pocket. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest cop, until Los Angeles Police Department mavericks, Sgts. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), form a secret crew to bring Cohen to justice.

Not the important film the trailers or the cast would lead you to believe, but instead a kind of throw-back to 80's action. Full of one-liners and cliche plot devices, the film will probably find a home in man caves around the world, but ultimately it feels like a waist of potential.
R for extreme violence and a few four letter tirades, Gangster Squad is often daring the audience to watch its next gross out act. If you're OK with that, and in the mood for an empty action flick, Gangster Squad is fine. However, I'm half-surprised I remembered it long enough to write this review. -
Terrific movie , picture , plot and action scenes . The movie brings you back to the 50's where the gangues controlled L.A. The action scenes are my favorite as well as Sean Pen's role ( he is remarkable ).The movie gas strong language with several F bombs dropped along the way.
