Pitch Perfect
College student Beca (Anna Kendrick) knows she does not want to be part of a clique, but that's exactly where she finds herself after arriving at her new school. Thrust in among mean gals, nice gals and just plain weird gals, Beca finds that the only thing they have in common is how well they sing together. She takes the women of the group out of their comfort zone of traditional arrangements and into a world of amazing harmonic combinations in a fight to the top of college music competitions.

I went to see this movie with a friend of mine, and I felt guilty about it as my 12 year old daughter really wants to see it. My daughter LOVES music and choir and we both have enjoyed watching both seasons of the Sing Along, a show about this style of music. I have to say that I'm glad I didn't have my daughter sitting next to me for this movie!! It would have embarrassed her so very much! The sex, sex dialog, sex music, sex reference, sex...sex...sex...!! Yuck! While there was not a scene with nudity and sex, it would have been less embarrassing if there were and then left the rest of the movie about MUSIC!! DO NOT take your pre-teen or early teen, it really will give them some seriously confusing messages!

This movie blurs that fine line between being rated PG-13 and R. I would not take anyone to this movie who is under 15 yrs old. There is a lot of sexual references and crude humor. That being said, the music and talent were ok and I did think parts were funny when they didn't cross the "inappropriate" line.
Not an original story, but overall enjoyable. -
I had so many family members and friends tell me that I needed to watch this movie, so I finally conceded. There were definitely some jokes that could have been left out, but I loved this movie. There were parts I even laughed out loud at. Maybe I'm an awful person, who knows. I would recommend it, but definitely for an older crowd. I would encourage parents to watch it first and decide whether they would find it appropriate for their children.

Very predictable story line. Too much potty mouth humor. I didn't find it very funny. Skip this one.

A little bit of a guilty pleasure, kind of crude, but the singing is fun and I did find myself laughing.

Crude Humor and A Cappella singing don't really go together. IT does have funny moments but lots of college attitude in this film

Not at all what my wife and I were expecting. From a marketing view I would imagine this movie to be targeting an audience of 11-16 year olds but with a lot of sex reference I wouldn't recommend to that age.

Crude humor, hilarious, full of one liners. I didnt have a very high expectation of this movie going into it, because its cover is full of chicks and its a movie about singing.... not a typical movie I would go see. I was surprised because I spent just about the entire move laughing my head off. If you are offended by crude humor give it a miss. I didnt think it was to bad, but lots of sex jokes. Movie is for mature adults. There are no sex scenes in the movie which surprises me, its just full of humor. Not bad enough for Rated R. but def pg-13

It's basically a mash-up of a handful of romantic comedies/underdog competition movies right up to the obligatory '80s movie references that's all the rage right now. Think "Bring It On" meets "Easy A." That said, it's undeniably fun and features an extremely likable cast. Anna Kendrick, in particular, is at a point where it seems like anything she touches is worth watching. For anyone who hasn't checked it out, "50/50" is another great flick to see her shine in a completely different kind of role (opposite the always great Joseph Gordon-Levitt).
However, it should be mentioned that "Pitch Perfect" is at times pretty gross. A few scenes rival R-rated comedies like "Bridesmaids" in terms of content, just sans any use of the so-called R-rated curse word. Because of that, I would definitely not recommend this for typical PG-13 audiences.March 1st, 2013 Details -
The humor was a little crude but the singing was fun

It seems only fitting that my last post be about one of my favorite movies. Pitch Perfect literally stole my heart so much so that I came home and listened to the music all day every day. It was like a two hour long episode of Glee and I loved it.
The film focuses on Beca, a new freshman in college who really doesn’t want to be there. If she had it her way she would be in L.A. working her way into the music industry but her father will have none of that. Like a good father trying to get his daughter to enjoy school, he tells her that if she makes friends and actually has fun at school she can drop out at the end of the year and movie to L.A. This brings us to the Barden Bellas, the acapella group that Bcca eventually joins.
Rebel Wilson is someone that you have to watch because she is going places. She played Fat Amy and absolutely killed it. I honestly don’t think the movie would have been the same without her and she is easily one of the most quotable characters of the year.
Another star is Anna Kendrick who plays Beca. I really only know her from Twilight and then I call her the normal friend. She was an incredible actress and I expect to see her in a lot of movies in the future.
If you want to see another Rebel and Anna movie watch What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Both girls are hilarious and are great in their roles. You absolutely have to see Pitch Perfect. If you haven’t seen it yet then go out and get it now because people are quoting all the time and you want to be able to understand what people are talking about when the film is referenced in conversation.April 10th, 2013 Details -
I am on the fence with this one. I liked it OK, but wish I didn't spend theater prices on it. My 13 year old son loved it, but I don't think it is appropriate for those under 15 (his mom let him go without saying anything to me), it really pushed the PG13 border with its crudeness. It was entertaining but not really for those much past high school, and with the crude jokes, that leaves a narrow selection of people this movie is good for, which is why I had to give it a thumb down.

The movie had a couple of laughs and it's not the best movie I have ever seen but it's a nice movie to watch on a friday, but watch it once. The music is okay. If you want to see a very good Anna Kendrick movie I would rent "50/50".

Definitely a mature audience show. Lots of sexual references and a few gross you out moments, but the music was good. It may be worth just buying the soundtrack rather than suffering through the show.

AKA-AWESOME!!! When I first went to see this movie I thought it was gonna be retarded (because I love acapella) and that I was going to give it a bad review, but then I watched it and decided, "yeah, betta' not". Hilarious, emotional, classic, and, quite frankly, PERFECT.

14 and up should see this, but there's hardly any violence. Probably some adolescent punches in the nose, but that's not even funny. A very boring movie.

I have mixed feelings on whether I liked this one or not. I didn't like any of the singing or dancing that went on because it was terrible, but the storyline of the main character was decent. You can tell the movie was green screened. If you are a guy you might be able to focus of the actors in order to get through it!
So for those of you who like happy endings you might like this one, but don't expect it to be the best musical!May 14th, 2013 Details
