Parental Guidance
Minor-league baseball announcer Artie Decker (Billy Crystal) and his wife, Diane (Bette Midler), get to see their only child, Alice (Marisa Tomei), very seldom. To their surprise, Alice and her husband (Tom Everett Scott) ask them to watch their children so they can embark on a trip for work. It promises to be a fun time for all, until the three young ones turn out to be quite a handful for this old-fashioned couple. This is a cute movie! Finally, a clean not violent movie that everyone can see. The movie most likely wont do good because it is clean! With it not having violence, nudity and language it's sad but true, movies like this don't seem to get good ratings:( Go see it! It really is a feel good movie. Way to go Billy Crystal.

On a scale of 1 - 10, I would rate it a 6 or a 7. I like Billy Crystal and Bette Midler. Generally speaking, it was kind of cute, but it wasn't a movie that I would want to see again. The thing that I did like is that it had a happy ending. It was nice to see grandpa and grandma form a solid relationship with their grandkids.

Perhaps the most refreshing thing about this movie is the lack of sex, profanity, and violence. It's clean and extremely appropriate as a family movie. There are cheesy moments but most of the movie provides for some innocent laughs, funny situations, and good messages. A lot of the humor comes from taking situations people can really relate to and then exaggerating them a bit so they are a hair unrealistic but it all plays into the dynamic of this new generation of parenting portrayed in the movie. It's worth watching even to see what I just described.
The cast did a good job, even the little kids. This movie is great to watch when you're looking for something fun and appropriate that doesn't make you think hard but still provides some good entertainment. -
Billy Crystal and Bette Midler do a fantastic job of playing off each other as the grandparents in this film. Families will be able to identify with many of the things that happen to this family. There are some very funny moments and some touching ones as well. The entire family should be able to see this film... Read full review here

There’s something to be said for a movie not being as bad as it sounds... it’s actually better than you would guess. Not great, mind you. Not even good, really, for the most part. But it is sweet and means well... Read full review here

This shtick-y, utterly synthetic sit-com of a movie telegraphs its every joke and then pounds the audience over the head to make sure we get them. Oh, we get them. We just wish we didn’t... It is filled with poorly staged slapstick and potty humor... Read full review here

Hilarious! Some parts were crude, but overall a very funny show about the importance of family and extended family.

This was a very funny movie and one that most people can relate to be they parents, kids or grandparents. Billy Crystal and Bette Midler are well cast in their roles. Many good chuckle to be had.

I thought this movie was good, because I found it to show that parenting isn't all wonderful, and that it is work. It also shows you how if you want a relationship later with your kids you have to work with your relationship constantly. They also say in there that sometimes you have to tell your kids no in some situations, which is something the world needs to re-learn. However there is a little bit of crude jokes at the beginning, and parental discretion should be advised.
