Turbo (Ryan Reynolds) is a speed-obsessed snail with an unusual dream: to become the world's greatest racer. This odd snail gets a chance to leave his slow-paced life behind when a freak accident gives him the power of superspeed. Newly revved-up, Turbo embarks on an extraordinary quest to enter and win the Indianapolis 500. Accompanied by a dedicated pit crew of trash-talking adrenaline junkies, Turbo becomes the ultimate underdog by refusing to let his limitations get in the way of his dreams.

Not ok for kids of any age. Very predictable. Painful for the parents and children to watch. Mental sleeper.

Overall Turbo has a good message about pursuing dreams and never giving up. It was slow at times, but there were some decent laughs along the way. It was safe for all ages with nothing that could remotely be considered offensive. Overall, worth a watch.

Keeping its content concerns in check, the story focuses on pursuing life goals. While that may seem a little hokey in a world where dreams don’t always come true, Turbo’s success can’t happen without the support of others. Luckily for this little speedster, he has a whole road crew cheering him all the way to the winner’s circle... See Full Review

I watched this with my six year old and he loved it. It has fun laughs, bright colors, and good music. The overall theme of the movie is to persevere in the face of adversity.

Features one of the weirdest premises for a movie that I've seen in recent years. I was also dismayed by yet another predictable good-guy-turns-out-to-be-bad reveal. The plot was cliche, the characters were meh, and basically seemed like it was ripping off "Cars", except with an even more unbelievable premise for a story than sentient automobiles. And if a movie is a poorer version of another movie that I've already voted a "thumbs down" on, you've got problems. I will admit that some of the jokes were pretty good and I LOLed. But mostly, my eyes just ROLed.

I also thought it would be good for 5+ although my nearly five year old was scared in several places. She is a rough and tumble kid but scenes in movies where the characters are being chased by loud things always scare her. I liked the messages to never give up and the support of family and friends is important. The hip hop and smack talk nature of some of the characters left my kiddo feeling like those characters were mean instead of just sarcastic but they don't say anything offensive. I personally, loved the city snails. It was good. Not my favorite kids movie but not bad either. It's not as endearing as Cars more along the quality of Rio. Worth going to but not a movie we plan to own or see twice.
