I thought this movie was a perfect date movie! It had me interested the whole time. The acting is great. The message of the movie kept me wanting to watch more and more. It had one part that I had to close my eyes for a little bit, but it was short. I would recommend this to all of my friends. My husband and I loved it!

Many magical things happen in Winter’s Tale, but the movie is far from magical. The plot is nonsensical, the conflict muddled, and the love story lacks chemistry. I suppose that for those who can immerse themselves in this fairy tale, the movie may hold a fantastical appeal. For me, it just couldn’t seem to get started, and when it did, I wished it would stop... See Full Review

The movie trailers made this movie look a lot better than it actually was. I think it could have been better if it had different dialogue and a better story... or maybe a better director. It had some big-name actors in it who performed their parts well, so it has that going for it. When Will Smith appeared on screen the first time, everyone in the theater laughed. It wasn't meant to be a funny scene. But aside from all of that... if you like magical flying horses in New York City, angels and demons (mostly demons), and a formulaic and predictable plot that leaves a lot of questions unanswered, then you might want to consider seeing this movie.

How many times have we said, “I LOVED the book! BUT I’m a little nervous they’ll mess it up with some dumb, snappy movie.”

With an emphasis on the importance of sexual fulfillment, and the notion that overcoming evil is a matter of who has the strongest fists, there is little here to satisfy either those looking for romance or for action. And most disappointed of all will be those who come seeking some deeper meaning from this big screen adaptation... See Full Review

“Winter’s Tale,” based on the acclaimed novel by Mark Helprin is deeply romantic but also pretty daffy. There are exquisite images and some grand themes but also some clangers, some murky mishmash in the set-up, poorly designed special effects, and one badly botched miscasting that throws everything out of whack... Not only is the story of magic, angels, demons and predetermined destiny preposterous, but the characters are also unconvincing and the dialogue sanctimonious. "Everything is connected by light," intones the grating narration. But, in this elaborate flight of fancy set in New York City, the blend of fantasy and reality is disconnected and convoluted... This movie was surprisingly amazing! I loved almost every second of it. There were a few parts towards the end that almost seemed out of place, but overall I loved the film. I think it was magical and had a great "light vs darkness" type message. The storyline was compelling and very creative. I loved it and you will too.
