Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.

Favorite!!! If you haven't seen this movie you are missing out.2 Thanks ·
Timeless romantic movie, that can watched over and over again.1 Thank ·
Nobody puts baby in the corner. Say that phrase to just about anyone older than 25 years of age and they know exactly which movie and which scene you’re referring to. I don’t care who you are, if you don’t have “Hungry Eyes” for this classic romance then you have missed out on a crucial part of 80’s cinema photography. This is one of those films that you purchased on V.H.S, then on DVD only lately to pick up the blu-ray. If you ever want to impress a girl early on in a relationship, invite her over an put this film on. Just make sure you’re not dressed too metro at the time.
Oh yeah, don‚Äôt let your kids watch this until they are at least fifteen years of age‚Ķmaybe older if they‚Äôre girls.1 Thank ·
A classic. But not for anyone under 16. Great dancing. Every girl's dream summer vacation.February 9th, 2013 · Details
I watched this movie with my wife at her insistence. It is basically a run-of-the-mill 80's movie minus the charm and subtlety. Cheesy dialogue, too much dancing, embarrassing situations, melodrama, and immaturity all plague this film. It may be a nostalgic guilty pleasure for some, but I for one wish it would have languished in obscurity like so many like it.
Props to Swayze for "Red Dawn" though.
This movie is a little more mature than what I think it's been rated as. It does have some graphic scenes and innuendos. However I love this movie. It's a classic of Patrick Swayze at his finest. It's the story of a younger girl growing into a young woman.
My mom burned this movie into my brain so as much as it pains me I do like it.
I never really liked this movie, I know most others did, but for some reason I just didn't appreciate it.
While it's not a typical romance, Dirty Dancing is a classic love movie. Most people over the age of 30 remember it, but it can be just as appealing to younger generations. Younger people might laugh at the 80's references, but they can still enjoy the storyline. What girl doesn't want some dreamy man to rebel against her stuck-up father and sweep her away while she's on vacation? It's every girl's dream! Guys might find it a little silly though.
I must admit I was disappointed with this film. The whole abortion thing really turned me off to this film.
Oh one of those movies you shouldn't watch, but you can't help yourself! Such a fun story, great dancing and cast, but has some sexual scenes definitely not suited for children. The story line itself is not for children as well. Have to watch it just to hear the line.."I carried a watermelon."
OMG I watched this movie EVERY day for I don't know how many yrs lol. Swore I was going to marry Johnny :) when I got older! All time favorite!!
My favorite forever!! Such a grat movie!February 2nd, 2013 · Details
