With movies, the phrase “third time’€™s the charm” rarely holds true. The newest installment in the “€œMadagascar” franchise, though, proves the exception. Thanks to its talented cast and a script bursting at the seams with manic wit (courtesy of frequent Wes Anderson collaborator Noah Baumbach), “€œMadagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted” is slight and inconsequential, but also completely infectious and fun. Even the most curmudgeonly audience members will likely be tapping their feet during the film's final circus number. Most importantly, though, “€œMadagascar 3”€ shows that there is a way to make animated movies without just aping Disney and Pixar. Parents could definitely do worse than accompany their kids to movies like this.

Took the littles to see this over the weekend. Way fun. In fact, it's my favorite Madagascar movie of the bunch. Ask the folks on the Shrek team how tough that is.

This was my favorite of the 3 movies in the Madagascar franchise, mostly because the jokes were spot on. The plot was similar to the other 2 movies, with friendship being a main theme. My kids loved it too.
There isn't much to be concerned about your kids seeing.March 1st, 2013 Details -
I agree with others that this is the best of the three movies. I wasn't wild about the first two, but I really enjoyed this one.

Fun. All in my family, ages 1 and up, enjoyed it. Laughs out loud from the adults, also.

A bit much on the herkie-jerkie action scenes.

Madagascar's third go-round is hardly fresh, but it never stints on energy or vivid colors....mostly feels like a frenetic spectacle... Read full review here

This may sound like a silly complaint in a movie that features talking animals, penguins who fly planes and tigers who jump through a flaming hoop the size of a wedding ring, but "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" just isn't realistic enough... plot devices and developments appear out of nowhere, in a throw-it-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks approach. It's silly, and it's lazy. And yet, again, it's pretty funny... Read full review here

Worth watching if you have kids up to about 8 or 9, after that it might not be very entertaining.

...the best of the series, bright, fresh, fun, and funny, with a terrific script... the circus setting is colorful and engaging, the action scenes are cleverly choreographed and briskly paced, and there is plenty for both children and their parents to laugh at... you can be sure that the movie has some confidence and personality, not be the usual bland bore... Parents should know that this film has cartoon-style peril, action, and violence, fire, animal tracker uses tranquilizer darts and other weapons, brief potty humor... Read full review here

Young children will delight in the silly faces and fast-moving action, while the adults who take them will groan at dated references to the Spice Girls and "Driving Miss Daisy."...uplifting message about believing in one's special abilities... The film contains intense action sequences... Read full review here

Probably the best of the bunch. Lot of funny scenes and I thought the end was exactly what needed to happen for this family friendly film.

Such a fun movie, a little violent to the poor animals, might freak out younger kids.
