Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

What is it: Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor's daughter, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead.

Why I should watch it: The first and best chapter of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, "The Curse of the Black Pearl" takes you on a high-seas adventure with creative characters that set the scene for all the exciting swashbuckling you can imagine.

What's in it: "Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl" is rated PG-13 for action/adventure violence and OK for ages 12+. There are some scenes that might be too intense for younger audiences without parental supervision.

Fun tidbit: Johnny Depp wore contact lenses which served as sunglasses so he wouldn't be squinting in the sun all the time.

What reviewers say: "Maybe the best Disney movie that is not a cartoon. Johnny Depp is fantastic in this film, he was actually nominated for an Oscar for it. The story is so simple and the characters are great." -Clinnel

Where can I find it: "Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl" is available on Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and iTunes.
